Sophia is of Greek origin and means “wisdom.” She comes from the ancient Greek word sophía (σοφία), which refers not only to knowledge but to deep understanding, clarity of thought and insight into truth.

In classical Greek philosophy, Sophia represented the highest form of wisdom, she is the harmony between intellect and virtue. Later, in early Christian and Byzantine traditions, Hagia Sophia (“Holy Wisdom”) became a symbol of divine understanding and spiritual enlightenment.
